Job Description
Apply GAAP controls to Plant financial operations to ensure adherence to internal controls (including SOX & other YFAI internal standards). Assist the organization in optimizing profit and protecting company assets by assessing financial risks and opportunities. Lead local Budgets and Forecasts & communicate results to the organization. Assist the Plant Manager in Plant governance.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, and authorize capital expenditures for the plant; align investments with company strategies. Ensure property accounting SSC records write-offs, retirements, asset valuations, and CIP accounts accurately by monitoring for idle assets or assets to be put into production. Collaborate with program controllers, managers, and engineers to align forecasted expectations. Assist in capital grants reporting. Lead fixed assets inventory verification and request adjustments.
- Ensure Inventory accounting complies with GAAP and aligns with cost accounting policies. Supervise and audit inventory verification events, collaborating with Materials Supply Chain teams to report and optimize cycle count adjustments.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual ledger closing activities, participate in corporate financial events, and reconcile accounts. Ensure accurate accruals and journal entries with proper backup. Prepare trial balance reports and reconcile ledger accounts.
- Prepare and evaluate variance analyses for Sales and EBIT, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts. Summarize and report business performance by Plant and Product Platform. Develop and communicate management reports for local and corporate management as needed.
- Develop and review financial budgets and forecasts. Lead budgeting assumptions and review profit plans with local and corporate management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to confirm budgeting assumptions.
- Ensure successful passing of statutory, SOX, and internal audits by adhering to key controls and providing necessary evidence. Follow standardized procedures for month-end accounting and Balance Sheet reviews.
- Prepare and distribute additional financial information as required.
- Support ad hoc requests from corporate departments such as Legal, Tax, HR, etc.
Specific Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Controlling, or related field.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- 7-10 years of experience in Financial and Business management or similar.
- Less than 1 year of experience within the automotive industry.
