Job summary

Randstad USA is partnered with a manufacturing client in Elkmont, Alabama, seeking a Plant Controller for a direct-hire role. The position covers cost accounting leadership, variance analysis, budgeting, and inventory control on 1st shift.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with 5+ years of cost accounting in manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and experience with general ledger and month-end close processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or business administration.
• 5+ years of practical experience, preferably in manufacturing with cost accounting focus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general accounting systems.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, payroll and purchasing policies.

Responsibilities

• Direct and validate accounting activities including receipts, scrap, labor distribution, inventories, accounts payable, fixed assets transactions and journal entries.
• Identify and resolve reporting discrepancies
• Analyze monthly plant financial results.
• Initiate and implement cost reduction recommendations.
• Explain variances and corrective actions.
• Review and approve capital expenditures.
• Ensure rolling forecast process and budget development.
• Manage cycle count programs for inventories.
• Set product cost standards.
• Develop direct reports.

Randstad is currently working with a Manufacturing Company that is hiring a Plant Controller at their facility in Elkmont, AL. This is a Direct Hire position with our client.

1st Shift - 7:00am - 4:30pm

Salary - $110,000 - $120,000

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• 5+ years of practical experience, preferably in a manufacturing operation, with focus in cost accounting.
• Computer skills with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge and understanding of general accounting, cost accounting, purchasing, and payroll policies and procedures.
• Manufacturing experience based financial and operational knowledge.
• Demonstrated skills in operation planning and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Direct and validate accounting activities including general receipts, scrap, labor distribution, inventories,accounts payable, fixed assets transactions and journal entries.
• Identify and resolve reporting discrepancies includingsystem processing or plant policies and procedures.
• Analyze monthly plant financial results.
• Initiate and implement cost reduction recommendations.
• Explain variances and corrective action taken to eliminate unfavorable variances or maintain favorable variances.
• Review and approve capital expenditure requests.
• Confirmi that the Formal four-quarter rolling forecast process is completed and submitted to corporate quarterly.
• Plan and develop the annual plant operating budgets based on current plant capabilities and desired cost, service and quality objectives.
• Manage cycle count programs for all inventory including finished goods.
• Set product cost standards via annual cost.
• Personal and personnel development of direct reports.
