Job summary

Confidential Manufacturing Company is seeking a Plant Controller to lead the financial function at our facility in Tennessee. The role partners with operations and sales to drive business decisions, moving beyond scorekeeping to visible operational impact.

Based onsite in Tullahoma or Mt. Pleasant, you will manage close processes, budgeting, cost accounting, and ROI analyses, guiding productivity improvements and profitability. Candidates should be ready to travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing finance or cost accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, and margin analysis.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
• CPA or CMA designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Driving cost accounting, inventory accuracy, and standard costing.
• Analyzing labor, material, overhead, and manufacturing variances.
• Supporting pricing decisions through product cost and margin analysis.
• Partnering with operations to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
• Monitoring KPIs and providing actionable financial insight.
• Supporting capital investment decisions and ROI analysis.
• Maintaining strong internal controls and financial compliance.
• Leading monthly financial reviews with plant leadership.

What You'll Do

As Plant Controller, you'll serve as the financial leader for the facility while acting as a strategic business partner to plant leadership, sales, operations, and corporate finance.

Your responsibilities will include:

This is a highly visible role where your recommendations directly influence operational and commercial decisions.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in professionals who bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance


• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience


• Manufacturing finance or cost accounting experience


• Strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, and margin analysis


• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience


• CPA or CMA designation is a plus

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys partnering with operations rather than simply reporting numbers.

Location

This position is based onsite in either:

• Tullahoma, TN


• Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee

Occasional travel between facilities may be required.
