Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Plant Controller to join our team in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting and cost analysis, with a focus on building skills to grow within our organization. This role is instrumental in supporting financial processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving financial insights that contribute to operational success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Support the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
3. Perform cost accounting activities, including analyzing manufacturing costs, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
4. Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insights, ensuring alignment with business goals.
5. Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
6. Contribute to financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting to drive informed decision-making.
7. Support the implementation and adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
8. Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience:
• Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is required.
• Exposure to organizations with revenue between $100M and $500M in sales is highly preferred.
• Background as an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or Financial Analyst is ideal.
• Skills and Knowledge:
• Foundational understanding of cost accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience assisting in the preparation of financial reporting packages and budgets.
• Proficient in communicating financial data and collaborating across departments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA or CMA designation is a plus but not mandatory.
