Job summary

Corning Incorporated is launching a Supply Chain Development Program in Charlotte, NC. You will gain hands-on experience through three 8-month rotations across Integrated Planning, Logistics, and Procurement, with exposure to corporate supply chain initiatives and strategic sourcing.

You will work on transportation, forecasting, supplier management, and production scheduling, developing cost-saving improvements while collaborating across functional teams to meet business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering.
• 1-3 years related education / business / project management or technical experience.
• Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the assured supply of materials, equipment, and services at competitive costs while minimizing inventories and optimizing materials utilization.
• Forecasting analysis and tracking
• Develop sourcing strategies, evaluate supply chain options, and manage supplier relationships.
• Manage supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise.
• Monitor supplier deliveries to reduce the risk of stockouts.
• Develop short term production schedules aligning with demand forecasts and inventory policies
• Track overall key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior management
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the supply chain
• Other procurement, logistics, and planning activities as needed not otherwise identified
