Job summary

Schaeffler Group USA Inc. in Fort Mill, South Carolina, is seeking a Buyer to secure reliable supply, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive cost-conscious purchasing processes within our manufacturing plant.

You will develop market analyses, implement category strategies, negotiate prices, manage supplier contracts, and coordinate the supplier portfolio to support plant performance, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Several years of professional experience in purchasing, procurement, or a comparable commercial role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and confidence in supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of market analyses and the implementation of category strategies for the plant.
  • Develop and execute profitable purchasing strategies and negotiation approaches in close alignment with relevant functions and stakeholders.
  • Monitor the supply market continuously and manage the supplier portfolio to ensure quality, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, sustainability, and compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
  • Negotiate prices and conditions in line with internal purchasing guidelines and contractual requirements, and manage supplier contracts professionally.
  • Coordinate the assigned suppliers, including purchase price planning and the definition and tracking of saving initiatives that support plant performance.

Job Overview

As a Buyer in our manufacturing plant, you will help secure reliable supply, strengthen supplier partnerships, and contribute to efficient, cost-conscious purchasing processes.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation of market analyses and the implementation of category strategies for the plant.
