Job summary

University of North Texas is seeking a Vegan Cook to prepare and serve high-quality plant-based meals in Mean Greens, the campus’s vegan dining hall. You will maintain a well-stocked serving line, monitor temperatures, and ensure food quality and safety.

The role requires strict adherence to HACCP guidelines, proper grooming, and reliable attendance. You will contribute to a positive dining experience for students and guests while supporting a diverse, globally inspired vegan menu.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months general working experience.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to apply math for cash handling and making change.
• Knowledge of food service equipment and kitchen utensils.
• Knowledge of safety and HACCP guidelines in food prep and service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality plant-based meals in Mean Greens, UNT's vegan dining hall.
• Maintain an attractive, fully stocked serving line during meal service.
• Monitor food temperatures and food safety regulations.
• Taste products to verify quality and maintain HACCP standards.
• Ensure proper grooming, uniform, and professional behavior daily.
• Assist with varied menu stations and provide positive dining experiences for students.
