Job summary

Tarkett in Chagrin Falls, Ohio seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer (Process and Plant) to lead electrical control system design and installation for PVC Flooring Accessory operations. You will drive upgrades, mentor technicians, and collaborate across departments to reduce variation and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities include developing PLC code, implementing SCADA/MES enhancements, and guiding remote troubleshooting to ensure continuous production.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of plant or related field experience with process or industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements plant-wide SCADA and MES improvements with engineering and quality teams.
• Develops and supports Allen Bradley PLC based control systems; recommends upgrades.
• Designs electrical systems for new equipment including schematics and panel design.
• Configures and trains personnel on installation, programming, and troubleshooting of VFDs and control systems.
• Maintains PLC ladder logic and code for Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Mentors engineers and maintenance techs in automation and controls.
• Provides remote troubleshooting to maintain production across shifts.
• Develops cost justifications including ROI for capital projects.
• Collaborates with operations and maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation.
