Job summary

Vistra Corporate Services seeks an Internal Audit Specialist II to oversee complex assurance and advisory audits focused on power generation plant operations. You will evaluate control effectiveness across safety, environmental, maintenance, and reliability domains, partnering with plant and corporate teams while maintaining independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 3+ years of audit/plant operations experience preferred.
• CPA or CIA certification, or related plant operations certification, is preferred.
• Experience with SAP and/or Maximo is preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, written and verbal communication skills; ability to report to management clearly.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% of the time; ability to navigate plant environments including stairs and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan audits with clear objectives, scope, timeline and assignments.
• Conduct interviews to understand processes and communicate objectives.
• Identify and assess risks; evaluate controls to mitigate risks.
• Determine testing strategies and leverage data analysis.
• Test controls for effectiveness and compliance; provide remediation recommendations.
• Summarize issues and present audit results to stakeholders clearly.
