Job summary

Perdue Foods, Rockingham, NC, seeks an Accounting Clerk III to support production reporting, journal entries and cost estimates. You will work with Plant Management and the Harvest Plant Accounting team to ensure accurate costs and timely reporting, while handling multiple priorities in a detail-oriented role.

The position emphasizes accuracy, ownership, and collaboration in a standard 8:00am–5:00pm weekday schedule with opportunities to assist other roles within Harvest Plant Accounting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting or business required.
• 1-2 years of work experience, or total experience equal to 5 years if no associate's degree.
• Strong reading, communication, math, writing and analytical skills.
• Office administration, clerical and computer skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Kronos.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate daily, weekly and monthly plant statistical reporting and yield production reporting.
• Prepare weekly cost estimates for Plant, Paws and Live Haul for supervisor review.
• Prepare monthly cost estimates and compare to General Ledger.
• Create accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for monthly close.
• Analyze packaging, ingredients and purchases over $5,000 for capitalization.
• Ensure operating costs are charged correctly and perform financial audits as required.
