Job summary

Standex Engraving Group in Wakefield, MA seeks a Plant Accountant to own the plant’s financial processes including AR, AP, journal entries, and reconciliations, consolidating data for divisional reporting. This standalone role supports the Business Performance Plan and monthly financial statements while ensuring policy compliance.

Key duties include month-end close, internal controls, budgeting, forecasts, and collaboration with management to explain variances and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to analyze financial data to drive performance.
• Experience with ERP systems; Epicor and Onestream are a plus.
• Highly organized with proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
• Manufacturing finance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day plant accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, AP/AR, invoicing, collections, and order entry.
• Complete month-end close by the third working day of each month with accurate GL balances and supported statements.
• Prepare and distribute financial reports and analyze variances for management and program managers.
• Prepare quarterly forecasts and the annual budget; track capital expenditures and R&D expenses.
• Ensure inventory counts are accurate and support audits and internal controls.
• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls; assist audits and insurance reporting.
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries and resolve billing and account issues.
• Provide admin support linking local site activities with Standex Engraving Group.
