Job summary

Darigold is seeking an experienced Plant Accountant to join the Operations Accounting team. The role supports all phases of the plant accounting process across multiple plants and partners with Operations, Production, and Corporate Accounting. The position reports to the Operations Accounting Manager.

You will lead month-end closings, inventory valuation, and variance analysis, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate reporting. This role offers a flexible hybrid schedule in Washington.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in an accounting or financial analyst role.
• Prior experience in a food or beverage production facility preferred.
• Milk accounting experience ideal.
• Inventory accounting experience beneficial.
• Demonstrated analytical ability, initiative and learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting: maintain integrity of plant G/L and balance sheet; apply GAAP; support plant reporting and inventory accounting.
• Cost Accounting: monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations; inventory valuation and variance reporting.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: assist plant budgeting and forecasting with trend analysis and data compilation.
• Decision Support/Business Partnering: collaborate with plant management on performance and cost reduction.
• Cross Training: enter receipts and production/shipment data for daily production records.
