Job summary

Darigold is seeking an experienced Plant Accountant to support all phases of the Operations Accounting process across multiple plants. You will partner with Operations to drive reporting, cost control and continuous improvement, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate inventory accounting.

The role requires 4–6 years of accounting/financial analysis, Excel proficiency, and experience with Oracle/Kronos/SAP BO. A hybrid work arrangement in Washington is available with compensation range posted.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
4-6 years of experience in an accounting or financial analyst role.
Prior experience in a food or beverage production facility is preferred.
Milk accounting experience is ideal.
Inventory accounting experience is beneficial.
Experience with Oracle, Kronos, Oracle BI, SAP Business Objects and other business software is preferred.
Timely, accurate month-end closings including inventory reconciliation, adjustments and accruals.
Formulating journal entries and posting them to appropriate accounts.
Knowledge of budgeting processes and variance monitoring.
Demonstrated analytical ability, creativity, curiosity, diligence and initiative.
Proven self-starter with a keen interest in learning and professional development.
Ability to multi-task and work the hours required to accomplish tasks on time.
Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Continuous improvement mindset and challenge to the status quo.
Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn a wide range of software programs.

Responsibilities

General Accounting: Ensure compliance with Darigold and plant accounting processes, maintain integrity of plant G/L and balance sheet, apply GAAP, participate in plant reporting, variance analysis, fixed asset accounting and reviews, inventory accounting leadership, and liaising with Corporate Accounting.
Cost Accounting: complete monthly financial close, prepare journal entries, reconciliations and reports, manage inventory valuation and standards, generate variance and inventory reports, collaborate with Production and Warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies.
Budgeting & Forecasting: support Plant Controller in budgeting and forecasting by analyzing trends and preparing schedules.
Decision Support/Business Partnering: partner with plant management to support Operations objectives, perform analytics for process performance and line efficiency, capital spending, inventory management, and cost reduction initiatives.
Cross Training/Daily Production Entry: cross-train on daily production tasks including entering receipts of raw materials, ingredients and packaging and recording production and shipments.
