Job summary

Sprout, a global IT hardware retirement provider, seeks an experienced Accountant to own the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and support month-end close. You will collaborate with Operations, Sales, and other teams to ensure accurate financial data and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 3+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. CPA or CPA-eligible is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze data and produce accurate financial reports.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Collaborates effectively with Operations, Sales, and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage key areas of the general ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support and drive month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with preparation of internal financial reports and schedules for management.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, and other teams to ensure accurate financial data.
• Assist with ERP-related accounting workflows and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and scalability within accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with ERP systems preferred
