LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Plant Accountant for a growing manufacturing organization located west of Cleveland, Ohio. This role partners with plant leadership to analyze manufacturing performance and drive financial accuracy in a plant environment.

The Plant Accountant will focus on cost accounting, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while supporting continuous improvement efforts with operations. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited program.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with cost and inventory accounting and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and overhead
• Maintain standard costing and inventory accuracy
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
• Collaborate with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Support audits and management reporting
• Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Improve processes and reporting accuracy across cross-functional teams

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Plant Accountant for a growing manufacturing organization located west of Cleveland, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys partnering with operations, analyzing manufacturing performance, and driving financial accuracy in a plant environment. The Plant Accountant will play a key role in cost accounting, inventory analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while working closely with plant leadership. Based on internal Plant Accountant job information involving cost accounting, inventory valuation, forecasting, variance analysis, and manufacturing support responsibilities.

Location: West of Cleveland, Ohio

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, material, and overhead variances
• Maintain and monitor standard costing and inventory accuracy
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities
• Partner with plant operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability
• Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
• Prepare financial analyses and management reporting for plant leadership
• Investigate financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• ERP experience required; SAP experience is a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with operations teams
