Job summary
Bureau Veritas is seeking a meticulous Plans Examiner to review building plans for compliance with IBC/IRC and local codes across multiple jurisdictions including Phoenix, AZ, Las Vegas NV, and Sacramento CA.
You will collaborate with architects and engineers, conduct field verifications, and stay current with code developments while guiding staff and stakeholders toward safe, compliant construction. A bachelor-level degree is preferred, with ICC certification and CAD/BIM tools proficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC/IRC) and local regulations.
- Experience in plan reviews, code compliance, and plan development.
- Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools for plan review and modeling.
Responsibilities
- Review building plans, specs, and permits for code compliance.
- Verify structural integrity, fire safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to address deficiencies.
- Provide guidance on code requirements to staff and stakeholders.
- Represent department with professionalism and conduct inspections as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of building codes and standards.
