Job summary

BPR Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Plans Examiner to join our growing team. The successful candidate will review building plans and specifications for compliance with uniform building codes, zoning regulations, and ordinances, and coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities include providing code interpretations to contractors and the public, maintaining project logs, issuing permits, and ensuring efficient, client-focused service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years as a building plans examiner or equivalent.
• Knowledge of building inspection and construction processes.
• Experience interpreting and applying building codes.
• Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan checking for compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and ordinances.
• Provide information to the public, contractors, and architects on codes and regulations.
• Coordinate plan checking with other agency departments and transmit comments.
• Maintain logs and files to track project status and issue permits.
• Assist in permit counter operations and accept plans for review.
• Comply with company policies and provide proactive client service.
