Job summary

State of Ohio’s Department of Commerce seeks an Architecture professional for the Division of Industrial Compliance in Columbus. You will review construction documents for compliance with the Ohio Building Code and related codes, and participate in plan reviews and meetings with owners and contractors to resolve code issues.

Responsibilities include daily reports, staying current with code revisions, and supporting public safety through code enforcement across state facilities.

Qualifications

• Certificate to practice architecture per Ohio code.
• Certificate of registration as professional engineer per Ohio code.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents submitted for state buildings for compliance with the Ohio Building Code and ORC.
• Plan review items including site plans, building height, area limitations, and egress.
• Conduct meetings with owners, contractors, architects, and engineers to resolve code issues.
• Prepare and submit daily work reports; stay updated on code revisions.
