Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking an onsite HVAC Technician in Plano, TX for a 3rd shift (11pm-7:30am). The role covers setup, testing, and evaluation of equipment and test methods for clients, with opportunities to adapt test setups and improve processes.

Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and EPA certification are required. The position includes collaboration with engineers, direct supervision of test setups, and clear documentation of results, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• HVAC vocational training or 2-year degree required.
• Universal EPA certification required.
• Prior HVAC installation, repair, or testing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work one of the shifts (3rd shift).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment and test setups for clients.
• Build or adapt setup and test equipment for performance of tests.
• Read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and instructions; follow test plans and datasheets.
• Record and explain test results; prepare test reports.
• Direct staff in test setups and communicate with customers during tests.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic calibration of equipment.

Education

Vocational training or 2-year HVAC degree

Universal EPA certification

HVAC installation/repair/testing experience

Mechanical and electrical aptitude

Microsoft Office

Ability to work one of the above shifts
