Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) to join an ambulatory care team. You will take patient vitals, assist with minor procedures, document care, manage scheduling, and maintain clinical and patient records.

New hires undergo comprehensive orientation and training in Epic systems, care pathways, and clinic operations, with opportunities for advancement within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training or 1 year of patient care experience in a physician office or hospital setting.
• CPR or BLS certification before first day of employment.
• MA certification maintained through one of AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, American Medical Technologists, or American Allied Health.

Responsibilities

• Take, record, and report patient vital signs and perform low-complexity procedures as directed.
• Escort/transports patients to exam or treatment rooms and document care tasks in medical records.
• Assist in preparing exam rooms and ensuring availability of patient information and diagnostic results.
• Support weekly autoclave monitoring, QA, and monthly compliance audits as directed by management.
• Mentor new hires and externs and assist with training.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of Medical Assistant training in an approved program

CPR or BLS certification

Medical Assistant certification (one of AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or American Allied Health)
