Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) for ambulatory care. You will deliver excellent patient experiences—from vitals to discharge—while handling medical records, scheduling, and referrals.

New hires receive comprehensive back-office orientation and Epic training across Prelude, Cadence, and EpicCare, with opportunities to grow within a renowned teaching hospital system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training or 1 year patient care in clinic or hospital.
• CPR/BLS certification required before first day.
• MA certification from AAMA/AMT/NHA or similar bodies.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and perform low-complexity procedures.
• Escort patients to exam/treatment rooms and assist clinicians.
• Document care tasks in medical records and support physician education.
• Prepare exam rooms, support diagnostic equipment, and manage patient info.
• Oversight of weekly autoclave QA and monthly compliance audits.
• Mentor new hires and externs, participate in department onboarding.
