Job summary

Our aerospace and defense client seeks an experienced Structural Engineer III to design, analyze, test, and certify advanced metallic and composite structures. The role emphasizes robust FEA experience and strong structural analysis skills.

The candidate will perform simulations, apply hand calculations, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions. Travel may be required for reviews and interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in aerospace, mechanical, or civil engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of structural engineering experience; higher degree may substitute.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
• Hands-on experience with static structural analyses.
• Experience with metallic structures and aerospace components.
• Experience with FEA and engineering simulation tools.
• Knowledge of CAE tools.
• Ability to perform classical hand calculations.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Aerospace/defense industry experience preferred.
• Fatigue/damage tolerance analysis preferred.
• FAA/NASA/DoD regs familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite aerospace structures.
• Perform detailed static analyses and identify design improvements.
• Run engineering simulations using FEA tools.
• Apply classical analysis and hand calculations.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate structures.
• Develop, review, and execute structural test plans.
• Apply systematic problem-solving to designs and analyses.
• Prepare/ review drawings, specs, analyses, and test reports.
• Communicate updates to engineers, stakeholders, and management.
• Occasional travel for surveys, reviews, and meetings.
