Job summary

City of Arlington seeks an Addressing Specialist responsible for researching, verifying, and assigning addresses for parcels, structures, and tenant spaces tied to land development, certificates of occupancy, and building permits.

You will provide addressing guidance, review plat data, conduct land-use research, coordinate databases, respond to inquiries from the public and city staff, and prepare materials for Planning and Zoning Commission meetings and related boards.

Qualifications

• Two years of college minimum; coursework in planning, records management, or related field required.
• Ability to read legal descriptions, zoning maps, plats, and plans, and work with GIS data.

Responsibilities

• Research, verify, and assign addresses for lots, parcels, structures, and tenant spaces related to land development, certificates of occupancy, and building permits.
• Review addressing applications for completeness; interpret information for citizens and city staff.
• Coordinate filing systems for maps, plans, and meeting records; prepare agendas and reports for planning boards and City Council.
• Respond to Open Records Requests and inquiries from the public and development community; prepare minutes.
