Job summary

FM Industries in Livermore, CA seeks a Planning Supervisor to translate corporate forecasts into production, inventory, and distribution plans. You will lead the planning team and drive demand-driven strategies to improve fill rate and working capital.

The role requires 3–5 years of demand planning in manufacturing, strong Lean and pull experience, and 1–2 years of supervision. You will collaborate across supply chain, production, and operations to optimize capacity and material flow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 6–8 years related experience in supply chain.
  • 3–5 years of demand planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Lean and Pull environment background; demand flow knowledge.
  • Proven ability to influence management and teams across cultures.
  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with planners and cross-functional teams to improve fill rate and working capital.
  • Use capacity analysis, historical data, and forecasts to develop demand requirements.
  • Coordinate NPI and End of Sale transitions to phase products with minimal risk.
  • Develop and adjust materials planning data and internal pull system.
  • Track forecast accuracy and report performance metrics to management.
  • Shift to demand-driven production with a single scheduling point.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for order promising and demand vs. supply conflicts.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of quality components and assemblies.
