Job summary

Clear Creek County, Colorado seeks a Planning Manager to lead the Planning team and guide long-range planning, zoning updates, and affordable housing initiatives while protecting natural resources. You will supervise planners, manage development review, and coordinate with the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners.

The role requires a minimum of six years in land use planning and strong leadership, with AICP certification desired.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Public Administration, Planning, Urban Design or related field with experience or equivalent.
• Six (6) years in land use planning in local government, supervisory experience; Master’s may substitute for 2 years.
• AICP certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervise professional and technical staff, coordinate training, assign and review work, and manage performance.
• Oversee development review caseload, staff reports, and public hearings presentations.
• Interpret and administer policies and comprehensive plans related to planning, zoning, and development of community resources.
