Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred in a related field.
  • CPIM certification preferred.
  • CSCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI and Oracle ERP.
  • ETO manufacturing experience desirable.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership for the Planning team in support of Springville business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective team communication and performance management processes to provide daily visibility into team performance.
  • Direct production planning, material planning, capacity planning, and scheduling requirements.
  • Utilize sales forecasts to establish inventory levels through forecasting and SIOP processes.
  • Develop and maintain PFEP strategies to minimize inventory while ensuring efficient material flow.
  • Manage transaction history, reorder points, safety stock strategies, and other inventory planning parameters.
  • Develop and implement projects to improve inventory levels, OTD, and past-due performance.
  • Partner with Sales and Commercial Operations to maintain market lead times through forecasting and capacity management.
  • Create and prioritize production schedules to optimize capacity, productivity, OTD, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain planning BOMs within the ERP system.
  • Leverage data analytics to support planning and operations teams and drive KPI-based decisions.
  • Monitor and manage obsolete, excess, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration across Materials and throughout the facility.
  • Build a culture of employee engagement, inclusion, accountability, and job satisfaction.

Job description

The Planning Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day Planning function at the Springville site in support of the site's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and associated performance objectives.

This role leads material flow processes and oversees master scheduling, parts planning, production planning, and production control. The Planning Manager will ensure compliance with applicable customer and engineering requirements and standards while maintaining a safe work environment, developing employees, improving engagement, and supporting the project execution plan to achieve on-time customer delivery.

The successful candidate will demonstrate and coach an enterprise leadership mindset, helping drive process and cultural transformation across the Springville site.

Travel is expected to be less than 20%.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership for the Planning team in support of Springville business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective team communication and performance management processes to provide daily visibility into team performance, confirm standard work processes, proactively resolve deviations, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Direct production planning, material planning, capacity planning, and scheduling requirements.
  • Utilize sales forecasts to establish appropriate inventory levels through forecasting and SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) processes.
  • Develop and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP) strategies to minimize inventory while maintaining efficient material flow throughout the facility.
  • Manage transaction history, reorder points, safety stock strategies, and other inventory planning parameters.
  • Develop and implement projects focused on improving inventory levels, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and past-due performance.
  • Partner strategically with Sales and Commercial Operations to maintain market lead times through inventory forecasting and capacity management.
  • Create and prioritize production schedules to optimize capacity, productivity, OTD, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain planning BOMs within the ERP system.
  • Leverage data analytics to support planning and operations teams and drive KPI-based decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage obsolete, excess, and slow-moving inventory.

Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) certification.
  • CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification.
  • Proficiency with Power BI.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP.
  • Previous experience in an Engineered-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
Candidate Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and training experience.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving skills using DMAIC or similar methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and drive sustainable process improvements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder‑management skills.
