Job summary

Halff is seeking an Intern for our Planning and Landscape Architecture team in our Austin, TX office starting in January 2027.

The Intern will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of planners, engineers, landscape architects, and other support experts on a wide variety of planning efforts with public and private entities ranging from comprehensive plan preparation; mobility, park, recreation, and trails planning; active transportation planning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in community/urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or a closely related field.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong relationship-building and teamwork abilities.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and use computer programs (ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, MS Office) to create maps and documents.

Responsibilities

• Support senior staff on projects, public engagement, plan development, and report writing.
• Assist with computer-generated maps, infographics and document production for planning efforts.
