Job summary

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Planning and Landscape Architecture team in our Houston, TX office. The Intern will work with an interdisciplinary team on planning efforts for public and private entities, covering topics from comprehensive plan preparation to active transportation planning and urban design.

Internship runs June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027. Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8 a-5 p Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in community/urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or a closely related field
• Great communication skills
• Solid relationship and team building skills
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills
• Knowledge of computer programs ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office and the ability to produce maps and infographics

Responsibilities

• Support of senior staff projects, public engagement, plan development, report writing and document production.
• Assisting with the preparation of computer-generated maps and graphic elements needed to convey ideas.

The Intern will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of planners, engineers, landscape architects, and other support experts on a wide variety of planning efforts with public and private entities ranging from comprehensive plan preparation; mobility, park, recreation, and trails planning; active transportation planning; downtown and corridor planning; and urban design efforts.

Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.

Internship Details

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8 a-5 p Monday through Friday.

Halff does not pay for or provide housing for Internships.

What You Will Do

• Support of senior staff projects, public engagement, plan development, report writing and document production, and assisting with the preparation of computer-generated maps and graphic elements needed to convey the ideas generated in each planning effort.
