MAU is hiring a Planning Engineer for our client in Covington, GA. You will plan and coordinate manufacturing jobs, material requirements, inventory, and production priorities to support customer demand and efficient sheet and plate metal manufacturing.

This direct-hire role requires a Bachelors in a STEM field and extensive material planning experience with MRP/ERP systems. The position offers standard weekday hours with potential for occasional longer days or weekend work.

Shift Information

• Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Occasional long hours and weekend work may be required

Essential Functions

• Plan and coordinate manufacturing jobs in support of the financial plan.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate material is available to support demand.
• Analyze demand patterns to support work order release strategies aligned with financial targets.
• Coordinate with operations planning, production, warehouse, and logistics teams to support smooth material flow.
• Support regular inventory audits and implement corrective actions to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Investigate and resolve material flow delays quickly and efficiently.
• Serve as the voice of the customer, with an emphasis on on-time delivery (OTD) and shortage management.
• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to review bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, router updates, and material rejections to expedite processing and release.
• Identify potential material substitutions to expedite work completion.
• Work with the Director of Operations and Master Scheduler to establish production schedule priorities.
• Interface with sales, quality, purchasing, production, and management to translate customer and material requirements into manufacturing processes that can be followed internally and externally.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, material yield, cost reduction, quality control, and production scheduling.
