Town of Fairview is seeking a seasoned Planning Analyst to lead land use and zoning initiatives in support of our town’s long-term vision. You will supervise staff, oversee development review, and coordinate with Town leadership, boards, and external stakeholders to ensure compliant, orderly growth.
The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of municipal planning and supervisory experience, plus knowledge of state and federal planning regulations.
TARGET HIRING RANGE: $115,421 - $144,277 ANNUALLY
Under general supervision, performs specialized professional planning work with primary work assignments focused on land use and zoning. Manages the staff development review process to ensure new developments meet town development standards and provides for orderly development within the Town of Fairview’s long-term vision for the community. Provides professional communication and materials to external stakeholders on the land development process. Serves as mediator and negotiator for the town in the area of land development; performs other related duties.

Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Engineering or a related field; AND five (5) or more years combined municipal planning and supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Work is primarily performed indoors in an office setting. Work is sedentary requiring the ability to remain in a stationary position most of the time. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery is required. Repetitive finger movement, repetitive twisting or pressure involving wrists or hands is required. Frequently communicates with residents or coworkers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Periodic field visits and site inspections are required, which involve working outdoors and traversing uneven terrain, construction sites, and undeveloped areas, and may require standing, walking, bending, or climbing for extended periods while exposed to varying weather conditions.
