Job summary

Southern California Edison is seeking a Planning, Associate Specialist to act as the single point of contact for project assignments. You will manage service requests, coordinate with Planners and Field Techs, and ensure accurate status reporting across SharePoint and Design Manager.

The role supports power projects that reduce emissions and maintain reliability. It requires strong Excel and scheduling skills, collaboration, and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

  • Analytical experience using Microsoft Excel to perform advanced functions such as VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.
  • Experience working with scheduling software.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for checking daily for any new Service Requests (SRs, MSRs) or Work Orders in Design Manager; contacting customers to clarify scope, timeline, and specifications.
  • Responsible for checking if existing notifications/SRs are existing on same or nearby structures, using in cGIS; analyze scope of work and define, based on standard guidelines, if the work should be assigned to Planners or Field Techs.
  • Analyzes workload and skill sets of Planners/Field Techs and assign work to the most appropriate resource in Design Manager; bundle for Field Tech; update Planner folder in Sharepoint.
  • Verify new service requests, work orders, and contact customers to clarify scope, timeline, and specifications daily
  • Analyze scope of work to appropriately assign to planners or field planning technicians in Design Manager and update information in SharePoint.
  • Reviews work order management data and weekly project status reports for completeness and accuracy and make updates and corrections as appropriate, including tracking of projects with appropriate system tools.
  • Interface with the Planners and Field Techs to ensure that the project's status is up to date and accurate, including providing a report out to leadership of progress.
  • Reviews and validates work order completion.
  • Set-up and administer SharePoint sites to organize, share, and protect information, including maintaining all vital reports and updates to leaders.
  • Maintain a safety conscious work environment.
