Pasco County is seeking a Planning Assistant I to support the review and management of Development Permit applications. The role involves interdepartmental coordination, researching planning issues, and ensuring compliance with zoning and land-use regulations.
The position requires an associate degree with 2 years of related experience or a high school diploma with 4 years of experience; Florida driver’s license and notary eligibility are noted.
This role involves specialized office work in the review and management of Development Permit applications.
PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work may require field trips, which involves walking to observe site locations. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree and two (2) years' of experience in review for compliance with planning, zoning, building, and land development or similar regulations OR graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and four (4) years' of experience. Experience working with Flood/FEMA preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must be eligible to become a Notary Public.
