Job summary

BLUvera, Mortenson’s manufacturing arm, seeks a Planning and Scheduling Manager to lead integrated project schedules for complex initiatives. You will drive planning strategy, align with operations, engineering, and leadership, and translate objectives into executable schedules that improve visibility and throughput.

You will influence teams in a fast-paced environment, manage resources and constraints, and help scale planning processes while delivering predictable results across diverse product

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field required.
  • 8+ years of construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, and company software.
  • Strong knowledge of standard construction practices, sequencing, and installation methods.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve complex project scheduling problems.
  • Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of project management, buyout, and contracts.
  • Familiarity with 4D visual planning methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and delegation skills with team management experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation and delivery of quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate site teams and partners to develop schedules on large, complex projects.
  • Monitor and update project schedules across multiple projects.
  • Generate mitigation options and assist with mitigation plans for scheduling problems.
  • Coach and train team members in scheduling methods.

Job description

SUMMARY BLUvera, Mortenson’s vertically integrated manufacturing and fabrication business, is seeking an experienced Planning and Scheduling Manager to help drive the planning, execution, and growth of a rapidly evolving manufacturing operation. This role will be responsible for developing and leading sophisticated planning and scheduling strategies across complex projects and new product initiatives, helping ensure BLUvera can deliver innovative products efficiently, predictably, and at scale. The Planning and Scheduling Manager will partner closely with operations, manufacturing, engineering, project management, and leadership teams to translate business and project objectives into executable schedules. This includes developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, identifying critical path and resource constraints, forecasting risks, and proactively driving solutions to keep projects and production on track. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and coordinate site teams and trade partners in the development of project schedules using common CPM scheduling programs on large, complex, or multiple projects.
  • Support group leadership through the monitoring and updating of project schedules on multiple projects or larger projects.
  • Generate mitigation options and assist site management to formulate mitigation plans to correct scheduling problems on a project.
  • Coach, mentor, and train other team members in scheduling methods
  • Collaborate with Business Development on proposals, including leading successful project pursuit strategy regarding project schedule.
  • Support roll-out of all company-wide training plans
  • Participate in corporate planning and scheduling improvement initiatives and best practice sharing.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years construction experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software
  • Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices, project sequencing and installation methods
  • Shown ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in independently anticipating, identifying, and solving unprecedented problems on complex projects.
  • Strong plan and specification reading, review and interpretation skills with ability to identify concerns in document review.
  • Knowledge of project management, buyout, and contracts
  • Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies.
  • Strong organization and delegation skills as well as the ability to manage the work of others.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience resulting in superior service rankings from both our external and internal customers.
  • Basic understanding of project estimates to assist with schedule development, cost loading and resource loading of schedules.
  • Ability to interpret and implement customer scheduling specifications and contract requirements.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex projects at the proposal stage, often without project plans, developing strong project schedule strategies based on anticipated project challenges.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions.
  • Results‑oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete and timely fashion.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $116,900 - $175,400. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
