Job summary

IMIA, LLC seeks a Planner / Scheduler to lead project planning, scheduling and document coordination across assigned projects. You will work with production to maintain schedules and submit weekly updates, monitor budgets and reports, and prepare status communications.

Reqs include an Associate's degree or equivalent, 5+ years in a shipyard environment, and proficiency with EVMS and MS Office. This is a full-time, on-site role at office/shipyard facilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent, required for the role.
  • Minimum five years in a shipyard production environment.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable PM certifications preferred.
  • OSHA-10 (Company may provide).
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA standard items and EVMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with production to create and maintain comprehensive project schedules and weekly updates.
  • Monitor project budgets and job costing for prime and subcontractors, with reports.
  • Analyze and submit weekly Project Status Reports and budget updates.
  • Meet with Superintendents weekly to update progress and ETC runouts.
  • Interpret financial impact and contract value from production submittals.
  • Input information into scheduling software and Excel-based tools.
  • Prepare daily/weekly planning/scheduling reports for all activities.

Summary

Responsible for the creation of project planning, scheduling and document coordination used for monitoring and reporting work force productivity and progress for all assigned projects.

  • Work alongside production to create and maintain comprehensive project schedules and submit weekly updates
  • Monitor project budgets and job costing for all prime contractors and subcontractors, and prepare associated reports
  • Analyze, create and submit weekly Project Status Reports and line item budget updates for project reviews
  • Meet with Superintendents on weekly basis to update progress and ETC runouts
  • Analyze Equipment matrix to ensure runouts are accurate
  • Interpret financial impact and contract value via financial log submittals from production
  • Create job overviews based on work package and bid information
  • Create budget builders/initial manning curve based on schedule
  • Create weighted progress template with production input
  • Research job-specific charging issues to assist upper management with analysis of potential problems
  • Input information into scheduling software, excel spreadsheets and appropriate computer programs
  • Monitor, analyze and report performance of production activities utilizing information derived from labor, material, equipment and production control systems
  • Gather and copy technical and reference material to support production for accomplishment of work items
  • Assist Project Team in resolving conflicts by collecting and analyzing information, determining differences between base line contract work, change order work and growth work
  • Schedule, monitor and review production progress to include materials and equipment to support production schedules
  • Aid in preparing daily/weekly planning/scheduling reports for all activities including but limited to daily plan of the days, items in planning, items in government review, items in negotiations, and items waiting authorization

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes
  • Knowledge of resource loading, critical path method, network logic, milestone relationships and base-lining network schedules
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of legal contracts
  • Ability to do simple math
  • Ability to carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to problem solve, organize and prioritize work
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA standard items
  • Proficient with Earned Value Management System
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education And Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum five (5) or more years in a shipyard production environment preferably in US Navy repair or new construction shipyards
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications preferred.
  • OSHA-10 (Company May Provide)
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Most work conducted in an office environment
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds (50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly)
  • Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • May be required to wear a respirator
