Job summary

Seek Thermal is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to develop and coordinate internal and subcontract build schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with the overall build plan. You will work closely with the Director of Wafer Management in a manufacturing environment, supporting Materials, Production, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Quality.

The role emphasizes ERP/MRP proficiency, subcontract coordination, and continuous improvement in a dynamic production setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in an electro-mechanical assembly production environment
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in planning/scheduling preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and prioritize internal and subcontract build schedules based on need date and capacity, addressing obstacles that could impact on-time delivery
• Schedule subcontract processes (wafer processing, routing, wire bonding) to support build plans
• Identify capacity limitations and communicate them to management to ensure plans remain achievable
• Manage daily transactions in the MRP system to maintain system integrity and alignment
• Communicate with subcontractors on schedules, priorities, and serial number tracking
• Manage the flow of inventory and WIP between Seek and outside processing vendors, including daily tracking across multiple external suppliers
• Identify potential WIP bottlenecks and develop recovery plans
• Coordinate and expedite the flow of parts, sub-assemblies, and materials to work areas to meet production schedules and customer commitments
• Manage defective material by scheduling second runs or following up on dispositions

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Master Scheduler and Inventory Control Manager, the Planner/Scheduler develops and coordinates internal and subcontract build schedules to ensure production and development deadlines are met. This role is integral to the Planning and Supply Chain team, supporting a range of planning and scheduling activities, and works closely with the Director of Wafer Management to ensure subcontract execution aligns with the overall build plan. The position operates in a manufacturing environment, supporting Materials, Production, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Scheduling & Build Planning

• Develop, monitor, and prioritize internal and subcontract build schedules based on need date and capacity, addressing obstacles that could impact on-time delivery


• Schedule subcontract processes (wafer processing, routing, wire bonding) to support build plans


• Identify capacity limitations and communicate them to management to ensure plans remain achievable


• Manage daily transactions in the MRP system to maintain system integrity and alignment

Subcontractor & WIP Management

• Communicate with subcontractors on schedules, priorities, and serial number tracking


• Manage the flow of inventory and WIP between Seek and outside processing vendors, including daily tracking across multiple external suppliers


• Identify potential WIP bottlenecks and develop recovery plans


• Coordinate and expedite the flow of parts, sub-assemblies, and materials to work areas to meet production schedules and customer commitments


• Manage defective material by scheduling second runs or following up on dispositions

Materials & Inventory

• Communicate supply chain shortages and their urgency to Purchasing and Manufacturing


• Analyze inventory variances and follow up on corrective actions to avoid stock-outs or excess materials


• Manage consumable inventory, including ongoing review of re-order points


• Support shipping and receiving to ensure inventory is properly transacted


• Identify and execute continuous improvement activities


• Maintain and update manufacturing reporting tools

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

• Solid fundamental understanding of MRP principles, manufacturing workflow, capacity planning, and supply chain


• Complete understanding of assigned products, with emphasis on scheduling constraints


• Knowledgeable of production requirements relating to processes, machines, and people


• Ability to make decisions and evaluate constraints within the production plan


• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously


• Able to interface tactfully and proactively across departments — especially Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and Engineering — and with multiple external suppliers


• Able to communicate and present analyses, insights, and recommendations clearly, tailoring the message to different audiences


• Understanding of ERP systems (NetSuite a plus) and multi-layer BOMs


• Proficient with MS Excel and Smartsheet


• Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality, accuracy, and precision
