Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Planner / Scheduler to coordinate maintenance planning and scheduling across multiple teams. The role centers on creating job plans, resolving scheduling conflicts, and maintaining the Maximo system to ensure efficient operations.

The position requires collaborative work with maintenance supervisors, reviewing work orders, approving activities, and preparing weekly and daily schedules to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment and processes listed under job duties.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment and preventative maintenance in Maximo.
  • Distribute weekly planned weekly work orders.
  • Monitor Open Work Orders.
  • Enter downtime/maintenance activities in Maximo.
  • Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) Schedule and coordinate with Supervisors.
  • Schedule PMs with Supervisors and coordinate with other maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain Equipment Files and PM program integrity in Maximo.
  • Review actual vs. plan on completed work orders.

Job description

The Planner / Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling aspect of all work. Develops job plans and routinely meets with different work groups to resolve scheduling conflicts. Responsible for maintaining the Maximo maintenance management system.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up equipment and preventative maintenance in Maximo
  • Distribute weekly planned weekly work orders
  • Monitor Open Work Orders
  • Run Business Objects reports
  • Enter all downtime/maintenance activities in Maximo
  • Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) Schedule
  • Schedule PM’s with Supervisors
  • Coordinate PM’s with other maintenance to ensure minimal downtime
  • Maintain Equipment Files
  • Mechanical Integrity - add/update when needed
  • Maintain Shutdown Checks
  • Planner Scheduler works closely with Maintenance Supervisor
  • Reviews work orders for each significant piece of information
  • Assign work orders needing planning and material to planning backlog
  • Assure work order has approval and authority
  • Prepare weekly schedule facilitate weekly scheduling meeting
  • Prepare daily schedule for maintenance supervisor
  • Receive and process daily schedule and late work report from previous day
  • Enter work orders into Maximo to accept charges and close when complete
  • Facilitate maintenance activity with production
  • Maintain integrity of PM program, i.e., checklists, trigger, frequency, compliance, and schedules using Maximo.
  • Review actual vs. plan on completed work orders
  • Identify recurring maintenance problems
  • Work with assisting with PR’s and inventory management
  • Work with assisting with Power BI reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3 years of experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment and processes listed under job duties.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company.
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors.
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision
  • Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software
  • Ability to think critically and logically to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Capable of converting verbal or written instructions into productive action
  • Basic pipe, valve, & fitting knowledge
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and be able to respond to callouts as need to fulfill business objectives
  • Regular and reliable attendance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years plant experience or related experience including use of Maximo

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex).
  • Able to perform work in an industrial environment (indoor or outdoor) with various hazards and noise exposure.
