Magna International in Clinton, Tennessee, is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to manage production and inventory control for JIT manufacturing. You will translate weekly demand into a master schedule and coordinate with manufacturing, engineering and direct reports to ensure timely completion.

The role requires experience in production scheduling, inventory management and strong data-driven decision making, with a readiness for occasional evenings and weekend shifts when required.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years with a degree or 5-8 years without a degree of supervisory experience in production planning.
  • Experience in production scheduling and inventory control in a manufacturing setting, preferably automotive.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends when customer requirements warrant.

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities of Production and Inventory Control to support JIT manufacturing and 100% on-time delivery.
  • Schedule production operations for maximum efficiency and coordinate with manufacturing and engineering for trial builds.
  • Control all inventory levels to assure JIT supply and coordinate with direct reports to ensure timely completion.
  • Translate weekly demand into master schedule and align with customer volume fluctuations.

Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.**Job Responsibilities:**JOB PROFILE* Manage the activities of Production and Inventory Control department to provide optimum support to the JIT (Just-In-Time) manufacturing organization through effective scheduling of customer-driven releases while insuring 100% on-time deliveryRESPONSIBILITIES* Responsibility for proper handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of both material and product per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications* Control all levels of inventory to assure JIT supply of quality product to the customer* Schedule production operations to maximum efficiency* Coordinate the activities of direct reports to ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks* Manage physical inventories to meet established goals* Translate weekly customer demand into master schedule for stamping and assembly* Coordinate customer volume fluctuations with the manufacturing group, to include customer shutdown schedules* Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering the planning and scheduling of trial builds* Coordinate old program build-outs and new program start-ups* Housekeeping and other activities as assignedSH&E* Support and enforce compliance to TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.* Provide a safe and healthful work environment that is free of all recognized hazards for employees, contractors, and visitors.* Advise employees, contractors and visitors of any actual or potential danger to their safety or health and ensure the necessary training and/or personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.* Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.* Know, follow and enforce all applicable SH&E Rules, Policies, and Procedures.* Help manage Safety Performance Measurables such as incident rate, monthly inspection results and EOS scores.
