Job summary

Daikin Comfort in Texas is seeking a Production Planner to develop monthly and weekly production plans by model, aligning demand with the Sales planning organization to ensure inventory health and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong analytic skills, experience in forecasting and production planning, and collaboration across manufacturing, sales, and other teams. Proficiency with MPSP, Anaplan, Tableau, SQL, and Excel/Access is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent years’ experience in production planning in a high paced manufacturing environment.
• APICS certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and weekly production plan by model for assigned product class.
• Prepare weekly and monthly SKU production plans.
• Maintain inventory levels at the distribution warehouse based on lead times within budget.
• Review and incorporate monthly sales forecast by model.
• Maintain relationships with manufacturing, sales planning and other disciplines to optimize efficiency.
• Manage phase-in/phase-out of new product introductions and transitions.
• Analyze sales and inventory data to make production decisions at SKU level.
• Gather, compile and analyze data from various sources.
• Maintain production forecasting tool (MPSP) weekly for rolling 8 weeks.

Job description

The Production Planner is responsible for production plan development for the Manufacturing organization and customer demand alignment with the Sales planning organization. This includes accountability for availability, constraint support, product mix, and finished goods inventory. This role requires one with the ability to be results orientated, excellence driven and applies a sense of urgency to achieve business objectives. Applies good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

Position Responsibilities May Include

• Prepare monthly and weekly production plan by model for assigned product class.
• Prepare weekly and monthly SKU production plans
• Maintain inventory levels at the distribution warehouse based on established lead times while managing within approved budget.
• Review and incorporate monthly sales forecast by model for assigned product class.
• Maintain working relationship with manufacturing, sales planning and other disciplines to optimize efficiency and ensure smooth product flow to the customer.
• Manage phase-in and phase-out of new product introductions and transitions.
• Analyze large amounts of sales and inventory data to make proficient production decisions at the SKU level.
• Communicate across all business disciplines both verbally and written.
• Gather, compile and analyze data from various sources.
• Assist in annual planning and preparation of tools.
• Maintain production forecasting tool (MPSP) each week for a rolling 8 weeks to ensure vendor forecasts and financial CIP planning are up to date.
• Perform monthly updates in Anaplan
• Perform required analysis as directed
• Perform automation of reporting in Tableau
• Create tools independently using SQL and Access programming
• Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs.

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced Excel & Access skills -required and SQL, Tableau, or Anaplan experience is a plus

• Effective organizational & time management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Competency

Experience:

• 3 – 6 years forecasting & production planning including quantitative business analysis

Education/Certification

• Bachelor Degree (Statistics, Mathematics, Logistics, Manufacturing, etc.) or equivalent years’ experience in production planning in a high paced manufacturing environment
• APICS certification strongly preferred
