Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in urban or regional planning.
• AICP certification or ability to obtain licensure.
• Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of Florida land use law, zoning, and planning requirements.
• Experience with sustainable planning (smart growth, LID) preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong project management and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in planning and entitlement of land development and municipal projects.
• Prepare site plans, land use studies, zoning analyses, and comprehensive plan amendments.
• Collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, and environmental specialists.
• Conduct site and land use analyses, zoning compatibility, and regulatory constraint checks.
• Process plats, rights-of-way, dedications, site plan modifications, and permits.
• Prepare staff reports, analyses, and timelines for entitlement submittals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
• Present analyses and site plans to clients, boards, and agencies.
• Participate in community engagement and public meetings.
• Oversee the entitlement process, including site visits and coordination.
• Stay current with industry trends and land use law.
