Job summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems seeks a Planner II for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This on‑site role schedules jobs per the MPS, plans material requirements, and maintains line‑of‑balance to ensure on‑time deliveries.

You’ll coordinate with planning, accounting, and PM to optimize material EACs and run charts. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years in planning, and strong MS Excel/MRP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in production planning or related material management.
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables; MS Word/PowerPoint; SharePoint; knowledge of MRP.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and sequence jobs based on the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Meet weekly with Contracts to review demands and assign planner responsibilities.
• Manage workload distribution and balance resources for planning operations.
• Maintain line‑of‑balance to ensure inventory supports on‑time deliveries.
• Communicate between planning, project accounting, and project management for accurate material EACs.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes.
• Maintain daily manufacturing build plans and ensure accurate run and setup times.
• Track and update expected completion dates for scheduled work.
• Review schedules for raw material availability and readiness for production.
• Plan and monitor outside services and purchase requisitions.

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Planner II. This is an on site position based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility. The Planner II will be responsible for sequencing and scheduling jobs at specific workstations or machines based on demand from the Master Production Schedule (MPS). They will plan material requirements to support on‑time production and manage material releases in alignment with the MPS to support work order builds. The Planner II will also maintain an accurate line‑of‑balance to ensure inventory levels consistently support on‑time contractual deliveries.

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule and sequence jobs at designated workstations based on demand from the Master Production Schedule (MPS)
• Meet weekly with Contracts to review new and pending demands and assign planner responsibilities
• Manage workload distribution and align resources to maintain balanced planning operations
• Maintain strong communication between planning, project accounting, and project management to support accurate material EACs and execution charts
• Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and daily planning activities
• Maintain daily manufacturing build plans and ensure accurate run and setup times for all jobs and parts
• Track and update expected completion dates for scheduled work
• Review schedules to confirm raw material availability and readiness for production
• Develop forward‑looking plans for purchase requisitions and monitor material deliveries to support run schedules
• Plan and monitor all required outside services
• Consolidate material demand for purchase requisitions
• Identify and escalation critical parts or issues that may impact adherence to the master production schedule
• Support and uphold the company’s mission, values, and culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of production planning, project material management, or related experience
• Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships
• Strong background in project material management
• Extensive experience in production planning
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables), PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
• Strong working knowledge of MRP systems

The salary range for this position is $60,045.00/year- $78,058.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
