Job summary

Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Planner-Estimator in Norfolk, VA. The candidate will own all aspects of tasks from scoping to completion and coordinate with ship personnel to define task boundaries.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings for materials, tracking progress with Microsoft Project, and developing/updating Technical Work Instructions (TWI). Travel may be required; a background check is mandatory and data entry skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of high school, trade, or industrial school.
  • Minimum of six years of experience developing work packages and TWIs for ship maintenance.
  • 3 years of experience supervising technical support for Alteration/SC installation, maintenance and repair of HM&E ship systems.
  • May be required to travel for work to other locations.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Must possess advanced computer skills to enter data into different databases.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate with OSIC and government officials.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions and manuals.
  • Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Able to follow safety procedures.

Salary Range

$60,000 - $110,000 per year
