Job summary

Aston Carter seeks a Planner II in Georgetown, TX for an onsite contract-to-hire role to develop and manage production schedules, balancing demand, capacity and material constraints while coordinating with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality.

You will drive schedule accuracy, update BOMs and ECNs, monitor on-time delivery and lead times, and optimize planning processes. ERP/MRP experience and advanced Excel are preferred, with cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in planning or purchasing.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and BOM management.

Job Title: Planner IIJob Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Planner II to develop and manage production schedules. The role involves analyzing capacity and material constraints, coordinating with various departments, and confirming ship dates for customer orders. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage production schedules based on demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Determine job priorities, quantities, and required completion dates.
  • Direct Planner I on job creation, release timing, and execution priorities.
  • Analyze capacity and material constraints to ensure achievable production plans.
  • Confirm ship dates for new customer orders in coordination with Sales.
  • Evaluate and respond to customer pull-in requests, determining feasibility based on capacity and lead time.
  • Continuously assess part availability, including supplier lead times and inventory, when making planning decisions.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Quality to align planning activities.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) including updating item revisions and modifying Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Create and maintain item master data and new BOMs.
  • Manage changes impacting production schedules and material requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality on non-conforming materials and determine disposition based on production demand.
  • Work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to address delays, shortages, or unforeseen conditions.
  • Support reporting and performance tracking such as on-time delivery and schedule adherence.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and system accuracy.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Essential Skills
  • 2-5 years of experience in purchasing or planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP tools.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, lead times, and capacity planning.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Syteline ERP system.
  • Experience with BOM management and engineering change processes.
  • Experience supporting multi-product or complex manufacturing environments.
Work Environment

This is an onsite, highly collaborative team environment with business hours from Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. The office features shorter cubicles that allow for easy communication and collaboration. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
