Job summary

Maryland Science Center in Baltimore is seeking a part-time Planetarium Program Assistant to help maintain and present public, school, and special event programs. You will assist in production, scripting, and educational outreach while supporting observatory operations and teacher resources.

The role requires knowledge of astronomy, planetarium techniques, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, with 1–3 years in related fields. 15–20 hours weekly; background check required.

Qualifications

• College degree in science, education, animation, audio/video production, or related field.
• 1-3 years in Planetarium field, animation, audio/video production, or related field.
• Pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visual integrity of Planetarium programs and assist in production.
• Upload and program digital imagery to the planetarium system.
• Assist in operation of Observatory and events.
• Provide astronomy information to public, teachers and students.
• Lift up to 30-40 lbs. and work in low lighting.
