Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff on the Falcon Kubernetes Platform (FKP) team to drive the technical direction for designing and implementing software that manages Kubernetes clusters at planetary scale.

You will lead the creation of design documents, present architectural strategy to senior technical and cross-functional audiences, and guide the integration of open source technologies.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Golang and Bash for large-scale systems.
• 8+ years building distributed systems, APIs, Kubernetes, and container orchestration at scale.
• 5+ years of AWS and/or GCP services experience.
• Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Argo, and Spinnaker; observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and related tools.
• Track record of architecting and operating planet-scale systems and leading design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction for designing and implementing software that manages Kubernetes clusters at massive scale.
• Create complex design documents and present architectural strategy to senior staff and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers and drive integration of open source technologies into the FKP stack.
• Architect and implement distributed systems, control planes, and APIs operating at planet scale.
