Job summary

The Arc Otsego is seeking a staff member to manage employment services documentation and plan development for individuals enrolled in Supported Employment, Prevocational and Pathway to Employment programs. You will ensure regulatory compliance and coordinate with the team to support client progress.

Responsibilities include developing staff action plans, attending reviews, and maintaining accurate records. Training in Therap and proficiency with Microsoft Office are emphasized for ongoing

Job description

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reports to the Assistant Director of Employment Services. Maintains daily contact in person or by phone/email.
  • Provides documentation in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Develops and maintains Employment Staff Action Plans for all individuals enrolled in Supported Employment Services, Community Prevocational Services and Pathway to Employment upon entry and every six months thereafter.
  • Attends all semi and annual reviews for individuals receiving services and participates in other team meetings as necessary.
  • Completes the individual's satisfaction survey in conjunction with the annual meeting and then reviews at each semiannual and annual thereafter.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date trackers for different documents needed for each person enrolled to ensure compliance with regulation and agency standards.
  • Maintains accurate and consistent communication with the individual's team including Employment Specialists, Vocational Specialists, advocates, family members, and professionals regarding the individual's progress as it relates to job development and employment performance.
  • Maintains each individual's record to reflect their current status, by the timely filing or purging of documents, and ensures that all records are in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Ensures that appropriate confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Completes outcome assessments as required.
  • Conducts internal quality assurance audits when assigned.
  • Provides Community Based Work Assessments for individuals who have been referred for vocational services, as needed.
  • Fills in for other employment staff as needed, including at work sites in the community.
  • Becomes knowledgeable and trained in the use of Therap for plan writing, event reporting and ongoing communication.
  • Participates in required departmental meetings, special projects, in service trainings, and other trainings regarding program requirements or changes.
  • Any other duties as designated by the Assistant Director of Employment Services or the Director of Employment Services.

Must be knowledgeable about various software programs; Become trained in the use of Therap for plan writing, event reporting and ongoing communication.

  • Organization and Planning: Maintains an accurate schedule of events; prioritizes activities correctly to ensure deliverables are produced on time; electronic and hard copy files are systematically arranged and easily retrievable; understands the departmental and organizational calendars.

V. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from an accredited University/ College in a human services field and one year of experience in delivery of services to people with developmental disabilities. Or a combination of education and experience that in the opinion of the agency meets the requirements of this position.
  • Computer Skills: Must be knowledgeable about Internet software, Microsoft Office components including Word, Office, Excel and PowerPoint. Become trained in the use of Therap for plan writing, event reporting and ongoing communication.
  • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a valid NYS driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Successful completion of all required agency/state/federal training.

  • Physically able to bend/stoop, squat, push/pull, reach above/below shoulder level frequently.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, walk and stand.

  • Must be able to independently lift and/or transfer, push or pull up to 50 lbs. No lifting restrictions.
  • Must have adequate vision, speaking and hearing ability, with or without correction, to be constantly aware of, detect, and able to respond to each individual's needs when not in immediate vicinity.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Use hands respectively to finger, handle, feel or operate office equipment.
