Job summary

The City of Richland is seeking an engineering technician to support permitting through plan reviews and ensure compliance with municipal codes, regulations, and applicable laws.

Ideal candidates will review drawings for accuracy, perform roadway and utility design support, and work under the Public Works Director in a fast-paced environment while building lasting partnerships with internal teams and applicants.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field required.
• Five years of civil or electrical engineering, inspection, or utility projects experience.
• Valid driver's license; flagger certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support permitting processes through plan reviews.
• Review and interpret drawings for compliance with municipal codes and laws.
• Perform intermediate technical work in roadway and utility design, utility locating, or construction inspection.
• Work under the general direction of the Public Works Director.
