Job summary
Richland County Public Works is seeking a Plan Reviewer to digitally review major and minor subdivision plans and commercial site plans to ensure compliance with Richland County regulations and ordinances. Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in engineering, surveying and mapping, landscape architecture, environmental science, or related field; 1–2 years plan review experience.
- Experience with land development regulations and the plan review process preferred.
- Adobe experience strongly desired; ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Review major/minor subdivision plans and/or commercial site plans for regulatory compliance.
- Communicate plan changes to submitters to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with engineers, developers, builders, contractors, architects, County staff and the public regarding regulations and review process.
- Maintain records of the review process for new residential and commercial developments.
- Meet with customers and other staff to discuss development issues as appropriate.
- Prepare and submit reports and correspondence as required by the Department, County, and/or regulatory agencies.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Attend meetings, training, conferences, seminars to enhance knowledge and skills.
