Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks an experienced Plaintiff Trial Attorney in Pasadena, CA to join a dynamic litigation team. The role focuses on preparing and trying significant civil cases on the plaintiff side, with emphasis on compelling advocacy and managing cases through trial.

The ideal candidate has California bar membership, 5–10 years of trial experience, and a proven track record in complex civil matters including personal injury, mass tort, or environmental litigation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 5-10 years of trial experience.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Significant civil litigation experience, preferably representing plaintiffs.
• Demonstrated courtroom and trial experience.
• Experience with jury trials is a must.
• Experience in personal injury, mass tort, environmental, and other complex civil litigation.
• Strong oral advocacy, legal writing, and research skills.
• Ability to manage significant cases independently.
• Excellent judgment and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and client-centered approach.
• Spanish-language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead or key trial counsel in civil litigation matters.
• Develop cases from initial investigation through trial and resolution.
• Create and execute litigation and trial strategy.
• Take and defend depositions of fact, expert, and corporate witnesses.
• Prepare and argue substantive motions.
• Conduct direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.
• Develop trial themes and prepare opening and closing statements.
• Work with expert witnesses and prepare trial materials.
• Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements with defense counsel and other entities.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff.
• Maintain communication with clients throughout litigation.
