ONWARD SEARCH is hiring a PL/SQL Java Developer to support our New York City team in a hybrid, on-site role, working Tuesdays through Thursdays. This temp position offers a path to full-time conversion for a candidate with strong PL/SQL, SQL, and shell scripting skills and a proven ability to design, implement, and maintain complex applications.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of hands-on experience, proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL and shell scripting, and solid background in OO design,

Qualifications

• At least five years of hands-on PL/SQL, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Proficient in PL/SQL (Oracle) and shell scripting.
• Experience with Java development and object-oriented design.
• Familiar with GitHub and Linux/Unix environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and Spring Framework is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain applications following best practices.
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas.
• Write and maintain shell scripts for automation and monitoring.

A leading company specializing in innovative technology solutions is hiring a (PL/SQL) Java Developer to support their New York City-based team. This hybrid role requires working on-site at the NY office, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The employment type is temp, with a potential for full-time conversion. We are seeking an experienced PL/SQL, Shell scripting Developer with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in PL/SQL, SQL, and shell scripting. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to develop, enhance, and maintain complex applications in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role plays a key part in designing, implementing, and supporting reliable technology solutions that support critical business applications.

Java Developer Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain applications following best practices.
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas.x
• Write and maintain shell scripts for automation, deployment, and system monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product Management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues ensuring high code quality.

Java Developer Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of experience
• Proficiency in PL/SQL (Oracle) and shell scripting (Bash, KornShell, or similar).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
• Experience with version control systems such as GitHub and exposure to Linux/Unix environments.
• Preferred skills include knowledge of cloud platforms, Spring Framework, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
