PL/SQL Developer

Location: Dallas, TX | Type: Contract | Experience: 4+ years | Pay: $80-$110/hr

About the Role

This is a hands-on database development role for someone who works in PL/SQL and Oracle every day, not someone who last used it a few years ago. You'll design and tune low-latency, high-availability database systems, and build the data pipelines, warehouses, and marts the business relies on.

The role is hybrid, with three days onsite each week in the uptown or downtown Dallas area. The contract runs from June through January, with an extension planned into the following June. Strong performance here often leads to longer-term opportunities.

What You'll Do

Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, high-performance database systems

Write reusable, testable, efficient PL/SQL based on what the work calls for

Build and support data pipelines, data warehouses, data marts, ODSs, and lakehouses

Performance tuning matters here, as does load balancing and automation where it makes sense

Write and optimize complex queries and medium-to-complex stored procedures

Share what you learn across engineering teams so the broader group keeps getting better

Qualifications

4+ years of SQL and PL/SQL experience across OLTP, data warehouse, and big data databases. PL/SQL is required, and it needs to be current.

4+ years in a data analyst role

Strong, demonstrable background writing complex queries

2+ years writing medium-to-complex stored procedures is a plus

Working knowledge of data movement and processing, including ETL, API, and OLAP, along with data-tracking best practices

Previous management consulting experience

Sharp attention to detail, self-motivated, and comfortable working as part of a team

Denodo experience is a plus

Big data experience is a plus, including Hadoop, MongoDB, and Exadata
